Oh brother why?! Why do we overeat on Thanksgiving every year even though we know our bodies will hate us for it afterwards? You social Newlies probably have a December calendar full of Holiday parties and happy hours, which will be full of sinful desserts and sugary cocktails no doubt! So, instead of continuing down this slope for the next few weeks let’s put the breaks on immediately rather than January 2nd. Now, I’m sure you’ve heard this advice before but let’s try to enforce it this year, eh? Instead of starving yourself prior to an event you should eat a small, healthy meal before your arrival. It is much simpler to skip over those yummy treats (or at least on numbers 4, 5, et al.) when your tummy is already satisfied. Furthermore, when you’re done-you’re done! Throw away that Chinet plate, ask your spouse if you have any food stuck in your teeth, clean teeth (if necessary), and get out there and do what you do best: mingle and dance of course!
