While the hubby is away the ladies will play, right? Or at least go out for dinner and drinks! Pipa was the perfect spot to do just that on a brisk autumn hump day with a lovely friend. She suggested that we go to Pipa and I’m grateful that she made such a fabulous selection! Lucky me got to enjoy some good food and some good company in a gorgeous, fairy tale atmosphere. Basically, if ABC Carpet & Home and a dark, Spanish chef had a love child it would be named Pipa. Oh wait, that’s exactly what happened! Pipa is located within ABC Carpet & Home and serves yummy tapas and more! Just as the name suggests
The ceiling drips with the finest chandeliers ABC has to offer. Low lighting, dark wood furniture, and vintagey mirrors complete Pipa’s look. Price tags (charming ones with handwritten descriptions and costs) hang from every item, which make the menu prices look like an absolute steal!
My friend and I shared the vegetales coca, champiñones croqueta, catalan spinach, and a bottle of wine. All were splendid, but I’d have to say that the champiñones croqueta was the big winner! We both agreed that we could of easily had another round of these perfect mushroom balls made with rosemary, thyme, garlic, and truffle! Alas, we held off from indulging in more mushroomy goodness and decided to save room for dessert instead. I’m sure glad we did because the bomba de chocolate was absolutely fantastic! Probably the best $8.00 I’ve ever spent on dessert. Please picture a ball (I’m sensing a theme here) composed of dark chocolate brownie, milk and white chocolate mousses covered with a milk chocolate shell. Then add some vanilla and hazelnut sauces with a hazelnut tuille on top. Oh wait, you don’t have to picture it…please reference the above image! Peeeeeeeerfection! Please do you and your spouse and your friends and your friend’s friends a favor and book a reservation to Pipa! Another “I do” to the books!

Wow, amazing post! This makes me want to skip work and head down to Pipa immediately. I was there last week for drinks and I highly reccommend the coconut – pear mojito as well. I thought they would take it off the menu for fall, but it is still there and still DELICIOUS!
Thanks Care! We should go together, try new dishes, and write a follow up post! xoxo
