Let me allow myself to introduce…myself. My current name is Rico, but I have gone by others in the past. I like to block those troubled years from my memory. When my Aunt Carrie found me I was living in a rough section of Brooklyn. Overweight from all the Junior’s cheesecake scraps and eating my loneliness away. Thankfully Aunt Carrie saved me from a path of self-destruction. At the time, Aunt Carrie lived in her college dorm. Unfortunately, I could not bunk with her due to my severe snoring. It would have been only a matter of time before one of her peers snitched to their R.A. that a homeless, older man was sleeping in her room. Luckily, her older sister Jen (my mom) was able to take me in. My mom is my best friend! She feeds me, walks me, and loves me. We used to even sleep together-that was until Matt came into the picture. He’s so tall and handsome; I don’t blame my mom for kicking me out of the bedroom. It was time for me to grow up anyway. According to the vet I’m about 10 years old!
My ancestry hails from Chihuahua, Mexico, but let me tell you…I am 100% city canine. I love strolling the cobblestone streets in the village, frolicking in the doggie parks, but mostly I love my fellow city canine, Frank. The first time we laid eyes on each other it was just like a typical romantic comedy set in New York City. It was Central Park. I was walking towards him, he was walking towards me. The sun was pouring in our eyes, but we had enough vision to see that IT…WAS…LOVE.
